About the Black Tangerine Designer Line of Leather Handbags

Black Tangerine’s chic line of leather handbags ranges from quirky, gorgeous fashion forward bags to elegant handbags with a timeless, classic aesthetic. In just a short time the Black Tangerine brand has become synonymous with fine materials and quality workmanship resulting in investment handbags that are forever loved.

The line’s signature designer leather handbags include the colourful Black Tangerine Magical Realism Collection inspired by literature and the art of Kandinsky. The Eden Collection takes its cue from architect Nicholas Grimshaw’s Eden project which was inspired by the moon and hexagonal shapes. The Retro Collection is all about the 1970s while Charisma flashes back to the 1980’s.

Rashida Kapadia is the creative force behind this stylish brand. Although she was selling her ability to decorate jeans at age 11, it wasn’t until she acquired a degree in literature that she decided to pursue fashion design as a career.

While studying at the London College of Fashion she took a year out and worked as an assistant to Hussein Chalayan, a 2-time British fashion designer of the year. After graduating from LCF in 2001, she was employed as a designer with an international company.

In 2006, with the demands of a growing family, she found it was the right time to turn more of her attention to her family and to create her own designer line of leather handbags. A quick review of the market reassured her that although there was no shortage of quality leather handbags, there was a rather large void in creativity which she intended to fill.
